The career that I found most interesting was Cinematography film/video production. This caught my attention because this is about capturing dramatic elements of film using cameras and I think this is the most important part of every film creation. Topics like film theory/history, setting up, recording, editing moving images, cameras/equipment, and film/sound editing are a part of this program. Some schools may separate Cinematography from Film/Video production. This is because Film/Video production focuses on film audio, editing, and how to make film/videos. While cinematography focuses on the ways to capture dramatic elements using cameras.

In this field an associates degree is offered by several colleges and it takes two years of full time study to complete. A bachelor's degree is offered by many colleges and universities which takes about four years of full time study. Some colleges also offer master's degrees which is typically around two years of study beyond a bachelor's degree. There are some courses in high school that can prepare you for this program like four years of English, three years of math, three years of social studies, and two years of science. There could be some colleges that may require two years of a second language. Some of the colleges that I am familiar that offer this program are Central Washington University, Walla Walla University, Eastern Washington University, and Spokane Falls Community College.

The average salary a for Cinematographer is $50,084 a year. The salary range is typically between $43,549 and $57,540. Salary could vary depending on some factors including, education, certifications, additional skills, and the amount of years spent in the profession.
